Experience: Chez Moi in Cambodia's Siem Reap
Arriving at Siem Reap airport to my tuk tuk driver weaving in and out of motorcycles driven by shoe-less drivers and occasionally pant-less passengers, 6 month old babies tethered only by a single hand, I wonder if we've made a huge mistake coming to Cambodia. But then, as we pull up to Chez Moi and enter it's gates, we realize that we are right where we belong.
Past the gates and the raucous city, we enter a tranquil and calm oasis. Greeted with fresh iced tea, berries and fruit, we arrange to relax by the pool while they finish setting up our room. By Cambodian standards, we splurged on the deluxe room, which in USD is only about $28 per night.
Contrary to most residential Airbnbs this place is a true resort, complete with charming and attentive staff, wonderful food and amenities, and a great overall experience. Since we were there for our honeymoon they did the room up all sweet with rose petals and ran a rose petal bath, which was super relaxing even after a dip in the pool!
Outside the walls of Chez Moi the hospitality continued. We were greeted at the airport by our driver who brought us everywhere during our whole stay. We were even able to book a 10 hour tour of all of the temples that he took us on- water included.
Honestly, I can't say enough amazing things about our stay and the people and the space. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
how sweet is this!? They made us swans and put rose petals in our room (and the bath!) since it was our honeymoon !
