Our Charleston Wedding

Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.

The past five years have been a wonderful love story, and this past September we culminated our love in a fairy tale wedding, set in the heart of the most charming Southern plantation. We're three months into wedded bliss (or more so, real life stresses and craziness) and I felt it was time to finally share some snapshots from our wedding day! It was truly a magical experience, made all the more better by our friends, family, and vendors who came together to make this the most amazing day of our lives.

SO. Story Time! When I first met Z I was a post-punk woman with a half shaved head, multiple piercings including a septum ring and gauged ears, and plenty of tattoos. While tattoos are forever, I had started to take out my piercings, grow out my hair, and overall become a bit more mature (read: boring). While preparing for the wedding I began growing out my shaved side, Z constantly making jokes about how he'd shave it while I was sleeping so I would be "the woman he fell in love with". I caught on quick and began planning the biggest long-con of my life. When picking a hairstylist for my wedding day I needed to have extensive calls to ensure they understood what I wanted, and I'm so happy with how Beauty Asylum was excited about my plan. The morning of we shaved off all the hair on my side and then braided a side braid to cover the shave - just enough so that when Z kissed me his fingers would graze the buzz. Needless to say, his reaction was ECSTATIC when he realized what I'd done, and I'm so happy to show him that I will always be his ladylike punkrocker.
