My Favorite DC Shops To Shop for Small Business Saturday

My Favorite DC Shops To Shop for Small Business Saturday

We all love the holidays, the one time a year it's perfectly acceptable to literally shop until you drop. What started as Black Friday, a day to push sales with mass retailers, has morphed into a full week of steals and deals.

In today's post, I'm sharing my favorite places to Shop Small for Small Business Saturday (and check back on Monday for a round-up of amazing organizations for Giving Tuesday).

Salt & Sundry

This local DC shop has been one of my favorites for yearsss, ever since their initial brick and mortar in Union Market, just blocks away from my apartment at the time. Salt & Sundry has the lovesliest gifts, from cocktail accessories and books, the most wonderful soy candles, cozy pillows and blankets, and of course, the perfect hosting gifts. The Bonus? This store comes with it's sister shop, Little Leaf which is chock full of the greenest plants to Hygge-up your home. My favorite are the dino-succulents!

visit Salt & Sundry at their Union Market location or on their 14th St location at 1625 14th St NW

Current Boutique

Maybe I'm a bit biased, having worked at Current for two years in the past, but Current Boutique has some of the best clothes and accessories in the city! Their "new" section" is full of trendy pieces at a great price, while their consignment section has tonsss of great finds. I've found some amazing Equipment silk blouses, Diane Von furstenberg dresses, Gucci and Ferragamo shoes, and some dreammmy Alexander Wang pieces. And that's not even the jewelry!

Miss Pixie's

Hey DCers, can you tell I love shopping on 14th St!? Miss Pixies is a favorite stop post-brunch to check out some great home decor. I dream of obtaining one of their farmhouse style dining tables, but have found other great things to tide me over. This is a great place to shop for vintage glassware sets, knick knacks, postcards, and other great trinkets.

Violet Boutique

Okay, leaving 14th St and heading to the shopping mecca of the DMV - Georgetown, we've got Violet Boutique. I shop here for cute trendy pieces like deep plunge rompers, jumpsuits, and cozy jackets, and the chicest accessories of jewelry and sunglasses! Not to mention the totally 'gram worthy decor (neon signs and cool lines). While the service can be hit or miss, this place still remains a favorite place to shop.

Shop Made in DC

This shop leaves little to the imagination; Freshly opened and serving up the best locally made products makes this the perfect place to shop. It's rotating selection of curated wares means that you'll get something new every time you go! Some of my current fave merchants include Shrub District, Whisked, and DeNaDa designs.

Steadfast Supply

Another retailer that includes a range of small-business merchants, this Navy Yard shop carries the freshest faces in DC design. They carry 60+ brands, some favorites of mine being Sun Gods Official,  Curated Calssix, Stitch & Rivet, Emma Marty, Mallory Shelter, and Harper Macaw. Literally, sooo many great, local brands ranging in style and price. I also love that they offer weekly events and workshops to get your DIY on and be a social person.

There you have it! My top places to shop in DC! Did I miss any of your favorites? Have you visited any or all of these? Let me know, and be sure to check out Shop The City for a custom tour of DC's best shops (many that aren't even listed here!)
