Hello followers. Sahra here, trusty blogger of nearly 6 years. You may have noticed my recent absence from the blogosphere, and may or may not have been left with some burning questions. Now, as we start 2015, I'm here to answer them.
Woah. Your blog is gone/down!? Where'd it go? Long story short, it's gone. During the transfer of hosts my domain was unregistered for all of a couple of days in which a company snatched it up. Those Jerks!
What about your business? And all that was "Que Sera Sahra"? Don't you own the rights? Me, not being the brightest, thought "wow, I have such a unique name no one else will want it, I don't need to trademark it yet". Guys, Trademark your stuff.
Can you sue them for taking your name? Can they legally do that to a business? Technically, they cannot legally take ownership if I was conducting business (I was). I have discussed and considered legal action. Unfortunately, I don't think the legal fees and time would be worth it to re-claim the domain.
So what about blogging? I've been blogging for, as I said, nearly 6 years. The past few months have been a refocus and regroup. I've toyed with the idea of staying put as a non blogger, bringing it back as it's former "Effortless Cool", and/or starting a whole new blog/project. For now, though, as my InstaGram now says, I'm going to focus on "a beautiful existence, not a bloggable life". If you ever get burnt out, I suggest a hiatus; it's so freeing.
Some of your posts are missing, what's up with that? When the domain was acquired I didn't have time/access to take back the posts that had been done through the new host. Sadly, those posts are forever lost.
Your email (email@example.com) isn't working; how can I get in contact with you? You can email me with questions, freelance proposals, to get coffee, or for fun at Sahra.Schukraft@gmail.com
What have you been doing in your time away? Painting; still wearing cool clothes when it's not -5 degrees, spending time with my fur babies and boyfriend, planning trips, traveling.
Do you have any plans for a grand return? Not as of present; but that's not to say I won't plan some wicked re-launch with the most amazing sh*t yet someday in the future.
