Day Trip to the Sea

In my recent job hunting I had a job interview in the seaside town of Newport, RI as a receptionist in a tattoo shop. Combining two things I love, the ocean and tattoos.

I brought my sister along and we made a day out of it, stopping at various scenic points for some fun and picture taking!

Vintage tee

Levi’s Curve ID jeans

CG oxford flats from Barami

Forever 21 hat

I’m a big fan of Levi’s jeans, and I’m proud to have been sized for my curve ID fit. I’m a demi curve :).

While the day was a mild 56 degrees inland, as the sun began to set on the water it began to get a little chilly, so don’t mind the shrugged cold shoulders in the next picture.

Also, directly after the picture was taken, my worst fear of the day came true; the wind picked up my hat and blew it into the ocean. I’m sad, but at $6.50 I guess I’ll have to pick up another.

  1. Ahhh such a bummer about your hat, I feel you. I recently left my hat on an airplane. I’m an idiot. I’d found it on sale at Aritizia for $19.99 that week too. Such a bummer. Love the jacket by the way.

  2. LOVE this look! :)

  3. This is very subtle for you I rather like it!

For those of us who like to get out more once the weather permits, here is a little photojournalism from Newport by a young woman named Sahra. She is 22 and her voice has that wonderful explorer/creator tone that works so well as she tells the story of her day, including the simple yet universal event of having one’s favorite hat blow off in the wind.

  5. Awww I love your outfit here – loving the mix of stripes and studs! Too bad you lost your hat (at least you got a cute pic out of it)
